Ryegrass

Premier 3 is a third generation of the long standing favourite, Premier II ryegrass.   Premier 3 was #2 performer in trials on combined turf performance statistics, and an improvement over the original Premier II. This variety has high endophyte, deep green colour, very dense tillering and strong disease tolerance.
It is highly recommended for all highend sports use throughout Australia and New Zealand.

RPR – Regenerating Perennial Ryegrass is the first perennial ryegrass having the specific characteristic of spreading horizontally via determinate stolons. This characteristic makes RPR many times stronger than other types of perennial ryegrass, while also growing at the same rate. And the result is
a regenerating perennial ryegrass with the highest wear tolerance that is perfect for use in sports fields.

Slugger 3GL is another top-rated NTEP performer from Mountain View Seeds. Slugger 3GL combines all the traits you expect in a great variety, along with excellent gray leaf spot resistance. Slugger 3GL ranked at the top in turf quality under management schedules A and B. Slugger 3GL has excellent color and leaf texture, producing a dense attractive turf. Slugger 3GL also ranked at the top of the spring greenup NTEP trial, showing excellent winter-hardiness and the ability to grow and develop quickly in the spring.

Transition to a better overseeder

Breakout II is the latest generation of turf-type annual ryegrass. This variety was selected for fine texture, better density, mowing quality, and improved turf quality. Compared to other turf-type annuals, Breakout II does very well in overseeding trials. A key trait of Breakout II is that it germinates quickly; providing a playing surface comparable in turf quality and wear to perennial and intermediate ryegrasses. Breakout II provides a cost effective, high turf-quality solution for warm-season overseeding applications. This variety can be used either as a straight or in combination with other ryegrass species. Breakout II is also useful in providing very quick, temporary cover to repair heavily used cool season sports activities.

Fine Fescue

Fine Fescue Blend creates a very fine grass sward requiring low inputs with good drought tolerance. A blend of Chewings and Creeping Red Fescue providing a durable grass for both irrigated and non-irrigated areas.

Links Blend consists of low-growing fine fescues well adapted to the harsh conditions of golf course roughs and bunker faces for that Scottish Links look.

Compass II is unsurpassed in turf quality. Its dark green color and excellent turf density make it a very attractive chewings fescue. Compass II performs well under drought conditions, making it an excellent choice for areas with reduced irrigation. Compass II shows excellent disease resistance as well, scoring high in Summer Patch and Red Thread trials. Compass II maintains its dark green color year round and performs well at fairway height. In addition, Compass II is wear and shade tolerant, making it an ideal choice for home lawns and parks.

Cardinal II is a top-rated creeping red fescue. Cardinal Il exhibits very high turf quality under a number of different conditions. Car- dinal Il has excellent color and maintains its quality when mowed at fairway height as well as under no-mow and shady conditions. Cardinal II has unparalleled disease resistance, scoring high against Dollar Spot, Red Thread and Summer Patch. Cardinal II is highly wear-tolerant, making it a great fit for most turf applications where a shade tolerant, high quality turf is desired.

SeaMist is a revolutionary slender creeping red fescue that can germinate in water that is up to 40% as saline as sea water. This extreme salt tolerance makes SeaMist an ideal choice in areas where effluent water is used to irrigate or in areas that are exposed to sea water and spray. SeaMist has excellent seedling vigor that results in a high establishment rate. SeaMist is a very dense turf with excellent turf quality, rating #1 in the recent NTEP trials. In addition to great shade tolerance, SeaMist has excellent wear tolerance and early spring green up.

Jetty hard fescue was ranked highest in the NTEP for shade tolerance and can handle growing under dense tree canopies. Unlike other hard fescues, Jetty can withstand low mowings, working well in low maintenance areas or golf courses that need to be mowed low. Jetty has a very dark green color, classifying it as one of the darkest hard fescues available. In addition, Jetty has excellent disease resistance. As with all fine fescues, Jetty is highly drought tolerant.

VG1000 chewings fescue (Festuca rubra sp. commutata) has a rich green color, fine leaf texture and with extensive tillering, resulting in a dense turf sward. Ideal to blend with Creeping Red Fescue for greater characteristic diversity.

AU Victory is a new creeping bentgrass variety developed with a “tough love” and “survival of the fittest” approach. A collection of survivors from putting greens during prolonged summer droughts were evaluated based on appearance and turf quality. Seed harvested from the top entries were established at Auburn and rated for color, turf quality and disease tolerance. Parents for two experimental populations were ultimately selected based on their cumulative turf quality score and reaction to dollar spot disease. AU Victory has quick establishment, high shoot density and good color. Turf quality remains strong after late summer stress periods and has quick recovery.
